Would you like to become a 'CLEAN OUT Champion' to help reduce illegal dumping?

Each year, SFUSD incurs a cost of $500,000 for dumping. To avoid accumulating unwanted items, SFUSD works on accessible and streamlined donation and reuse options before the school year's end. Goodwill is willing and capable of partnering with SFUSD to promote reuse. By working together to organize events encouraging schools with high-volume dumping to recycle and reuse their items, we can reduce the financial and environmental impact of disposal.

The expectations of the school sites:

• Schools that are interested in participating will need to host Collection Stations (36 inches wide x 41 inches tall x 48 inches wide) within their facility for a period of 3 months.
  Students and teachers will have Goodwill's bins to donate E-waste, Textbooks, Furniture, Clothing, Wares, etc.
• Additionally, as part of the agreement, they must host a Donation Event. The Shared Schoolyard Program will manage the coordination of the event.
  Schools and community members can donate books, clothing, jewelry, e-waste, electronics, textbooks, furniture, etc. 
• The schools must also promote upcoming Donation Events.
• Promote CLEAN OUT event(s) among school networks through parent organizations, teachers, and other connections.
