Nearpod is an interactive instructional delivery platform that allows teachers to integrate a variety of Integrated ELD activities into a digital platform including formative assessments and checks for understanding like polls, quick writes, quizzes, and matching activities. The platform also supports multiple modalities for delivering content with virtual reality and video clips, as well as teacher recorded audio and opportunities for students to record their oral responses. Lessons in Nearpod can be synchronous with a teacher directing the lesson or student-paced asynchronous lessons that students complete on their own. 

While the district no longer sponsors a district-wide license, Nearpod is an SFUSD approved application and schools can purchase school licenses or individual licenses for teachers. 

MPD will purchase licenses for teachers who teach multilingual learner focal populations and agree to supplement the core curriculum with ELD strategies using Nearpod. Teachers must agree to the following usage guidelines:

• I agree to learn how to effectively implement Nearpod through self study. Nearpod webinars available to sign up for listed on this website https://nearpod.com/resources and self-guided videos are available at Nearpod Self-Guided resources. 
• I agree to integrate formative assessment and audio-visual components into my lessons using the Nearpod platform 1-2 times a week.

Teachers can request licenses by completing the linked google form.
