Would you like to become a ‘Compost Champion’ to help the environment and earn extra money?

Through a grant provided by the San Francisco Department of Environment, we have finally been able to restore compost distributions for school teaching gardens (thank you, SFE!). As part of the agreement, we must also spread the compost love by providing some to the public through compost giveaway days. 

To help facilitate these events, SFE has provided us stipends to pay Compost Champions $4,000 each for their time.

We have three openings for Compost Champions. If you are interested, believe your site is a good fit, and have confirmed with your site Principal, please contact Rebecca Pollon, the District Landscape Manager at pollonr@sfusd.edu. **Please note, you will get an out-of-office reply through September 12th. I will return your email in the week of my return in the order that they were received. 

And speaking of compost, have you filled out the compost, mulch, and stumps request form yet? 

If not, and you want some compost or mulch for your teaching garden, fill out this form! 

For those of you who have already filled it out, I thank you for your patience as we got this program up and running again. Please make sure your information is up to date. 

Can’t remember if you filled it out? Submit another response, and I will be able to see the duplicates. 

Compost and mulch will be delivered in early October- a perfect time to feed the soil. 

*Stumps may take longer and be delivered in phases since we already have requests for more than 300!
