Announcement Message
High School Credit Recovery-Evening/Saturday classes are available for students who need additional credits to earn a high school diploma. Teacher Salary, in accordance with the UESF contract, is $53.63/per hour – approximately 80 extended hours will be paid out over the course of each semester.
- Evening Classes:
- Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday for 24 class meetings from 5:15pm - 6:45pm
- Distance Learning classes are offered via Zoom and Google Classroom
- T/R in-person classes are held at Burton High School
- Saturday Classes: 12 class meetings from 9:00am - 12:00pm via Distance Learning over Zoom and Google Classroom
- Note: All teachers will be required to provide students with asynchronous work in order to meet the minimum instructional requirements for students to earn credits.
- MANDATORY Credit Recovery Meetings and Professional Development (Via Zoom):
- Wednesday, August 30th from 5:15pm - 6:45pm
- Wednesday, October 11th OR Thursday, October 12th, 5:30pm - 6:30pm (attend 1 based on schedule
- Class Meeting Schedule:
- First Class: M/W - Wed, Sept 6th, T/R - Thur, Sept 7th, Sat - Sat, Sept 9
- No Classes: Mon, Oct. 9th, Thur, Nov 9th, Sat Nov 18th, Mon - Thur, Nov 20th - 23rd, Sat Nov 25th
- Asynchronous Class: Sat, Nov 11th
- Last Class/Grades Due: M/W - Wed, Dec 6th, T/R - Thur, Dec 7th, Sat - Sat, Dec 9th
Application Procedures:
- Applications will be posted on August 3, 2023. Review of applications will begin August 10, 2023 and will continue until all positions are filled. Selection Process:
Application screening for minimum requirements. Program needs will be considered. Extended hour positions are subject to availability of funding and student enrollment each semester. Teachers are hired for each semester as determined by the course needs of students.
NOTE: Teachers are not guaranteed a full semester in the case of under enrollment.
Requirements:
- Must be currently employed by SFUSD
- Appropriate credentials
- Satisfactory or higher evaluations for past three years
Desired Qualifications:
- Subject matter experience
- Successful experience at providing differentiated and engaging instructional strategies to meet the needs of students of diverse backgrounds
- Experience at the secondary level with currently-adopted textbooks and instructional materials
- Ability to meet reporting deadlines on time for attendance, grades, and payroll reporting
- Ability to motivate students and maintain quality classroom management
