The Multilingual Pathways Department has compiled high school world language course placement recommendations for 8th grade students enrolled in secondary Language Immersion and World Language programs, and students with home language proficiency in Chinese and Spanish.

• Recommended placement results are available for current 8th graders in Illuminate: World Language HS Placement 2023-24 
• Recommended placement results will also be shared with receiving high schools in the Incoming 6 and 9 Grade Student Report in Illuminate later this spring.
• Individual letters to students and families that will provide their recommended high school world language course will be posted to Parentvue by March 20th.

As a reminder, these recommendations are based off of each student’s:

• 1st semester 2022 world language/immersion course grades (if applicable)
• primary language in Synergy
• home language background survey
• Chinese language assessment (if applicable)
