Announcement Message
The EPC will be sending you a list of the students who are newly assigned to your school for the 2023-24 school year (and who will be leaving your school next year) on Friday March17! Please prepare to welcome your new families! You have two very important tasks over the next few weeks:
- We strongly recommend that you plan one or more of the following activities for your newly-assigned students. This is very important because it helps you retain your assigned students.
- Calling all families individually to welcome them (parents from your school can help with this!)
- Hosting an event at your school between March 22 and April 7 to welcome your new families
- Sending notes to new families or creating an email list to share updates with your new families
- Helping new families accept or decline their assignments if they don’t respond (after calling them)
- Schools are responsible for ensuring that all your transition-grade students ACCEPT or DECLINE their assignments by April 7. Schools can accept or decline each student’s assignment on their behalf in ParentVUE. This is critical to ensure that all of your transition-grade students have a spot at SFUSD next year—we do not save seats for most families who do not accept or decline their assignments (you’ll be able to see which students need to accept or decline on the list we send).
If you have questions, please join the EPC on March 10 at 10 a.m. for an optional meeting about the Main Round of the enrollment process. Zoom: https://sfusd.zoom.us/j/86734620617
