Do you know that there is a Native American/American Indian program that serves students in the district?

On Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the SFUSD's Indian Education Program and sister Native American Organizations are hosting a Native American Heritage Celebration. We are honored to host a professional development session for SFUSD teachers alongside Dr. Debbie Reese, a leading Native American scholar and member of the Nambé Pueblo. Teachers are invited to a workshop that provides a framework for creating a class culture that is inclusive of Native American/American Indian perspectives. This professional development will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 

Teachers are also invited to engage in the community celebration through dance, food, art and learning.
