On the week of October 3rd, teachers will receive pre-populated Google forms for EL students who have met two of the four criteria for reclassification. Site leaders and EL coordinators will receive the master list for eligible ELs at their site.
The eligible students need to meet the remaining criteria of teacher evaluation and parent consultation to complete the process and reclassify. Parents/guardians will be sent notification of reclassification eligibility via ParentVue (or by mail for those without ParentVue access) by our office.
Your next steps are to ensure that in November, the teacher or another school staff consults with the student's family about the student's readiness for reclassification. Parent consultation is required to reclassify any English learner. This must be documented on the form that will be sent out to the ELD/ELA teacher in the first week of October.
Reclassification forms are due November 18th.
