High School Credit Recovery-Evening/Saturday classes are available for students who need additional credits to earn a high school diploma. Teacher Salary, in accordance with the UESF contract, is $50.60/per hour – approximately 80 extended hours will be paid out over the course of each semester.
- Evening Classes: Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday for 24 class meetings:
- M/W in-person at Burton High School from 5:15pm - 6:45pm
- M/W Distance Learning via Zoom and Google Classroom from 5:30pm - 6:30pm
- T/R in-person at Mission High School from 5:15pm - 6:45pm
- T/R Distance Learning via Zoom and Google Classroom from 5:30pm - 6:30pm
- Saturday Classes: for 12 class meetings from 9:00am - 12:00pm via Distance Learning via Zoom and Google Classroom
- Note: All teachers will be required to provide students with asynchronous work inorder to meet the minimum instructional requirements for students to earn credits.
- MANDATORY Credit Recovery Meetings and Professional Development (Via Zoom):
- Thursday, September 1 from 5:00pm - 6:30pm
Wednesday, October 12 OR Thursday, October 13, 5:30pm - 6:30pm (choose 1 to attend)
Application Procedures:
- Applications will be posted on August 4, 2022. Review of applications will begin August 11, 2022 and will continue until all positions are filled. Selection Process:
Application screening for minimum requirements. Program needs will be considered. Extended hour positions are subject to availability of funding and student enrollment each semester. Teachers are hired for each semester as determined by the course needs of students.
NOTE: Teachers are not guaranteed a full semester in the case of under enrollment.
Requirements:
- Must be currently employed by SFUSD
- Appropriate credentials
- Satisfactory or higher evaluations for past three years
Desired Qualifications:
- Subject matter experience
- Successful experience at providing differentiated and engaging instructional strategies to meet the needs of students of diverse backgrounds
- Experience at the secondary level with currently-adopted textbooks and instructional materials
- Ability to meet reporting deadlines on time for attendance, grades, and payroll reporting
- Ability to motivate students and maintain quality classroom management
