Cafeteria “Share Tables” help prevent food waste. They support students making decisions about their meal, and allow flexibility for students to take more food if they are still hungry.
Although COVID-19 is not a Food Borne Illness, SFDPH had concerns about transmission and SNS was unable to re-establish Share Tables with the return to In-Person Learning.
After recent conversations with SFDPH, Student Nutrition Services is now able to re-establish Share Tables under a few new conditions listed below. Student Nutrition Services will begin the implementation process to bring back cafeteria share tables per SFDPH recommendations. Please contact your Student Nutrition Services’ Area Supervisor with any questions.
Share table conditions as of 2022:
- Must be monitored at all times by SNS Dining Staff, or others who have been trained.
(I.e. students, parents, or other adults.) - Potentially Hazardous Foods must be removed or kept at proper temperatures.
- Ensure updated signage, as needed.
