Teachers and site leaders will receive digital reclassification forms for students who are eligible for Round 2 (see Illuminate report here) based on meeting two of the four reclassification criteria.These pre-qualified students need to meet the remaining criteria of teacher evaluation and parent consultation to complete the process of reclassification. Eligible students were identified based on meeting these requirements: 

1. ELPAC Overall Performance Level 4 
2. Demonstration of “basic skills” in English from an objective assessment (F&P, RI, or SBAC ELA) that is also given to English proficient students of the same age.

Notices of Reclassification Eligibility have been posted on ParentVue for the families of English learners who are eligible. A physical copy of the letter will also be sent out to families by next week. 

On February 2-3, MPD will send 1) a list of eligible students to principals and EL coordinators and  2) pre-populated Google forms to ELD/ELA teachers. The forms are due on March 11, 2022. Parent consultation must be documented on the forms for reclassification to be approved.
