Announcement Message
Students assigned to take the alternate versions of the California Science Assessment (CAST) or ELPAC should begin testing. As the testing windows for these two assessments are currently open, it is recommended that students assigned to take these two alternate assessments begin testing as soon as possible.
Only students with alternate assessments specified in an IEP take the alternate versions of state assessments. As a reminder, the testing windows and grades tested are shown below:

Alternate ELPAC** | EL students pre-K - 12 | November 1 - February 15, 2022 |
*CAST science is administered to students in grades 5, 8, 11, 12. The alternate science assessment is administered as four separate stand-alone performance tasks, scheduled from November through May.
**The Alternate ELPAC is administered to students with alternate assessments specified in their IEP and speak a language other than English as a home language.

- 2021-22 State Summative Tests: Student Assignments will indicate which of your students are assigned to take the alternate versions of ELPAC and CAA Science.
- 2021-22 CAA Science Status Report will indicate which students have already completed and submitted an embedded CAA performance task.
- 2021-22 Alt ELPAC Status Report will indicate which students have submitted an alternate ELPAC assessment.
