While many of us would love to leave distance learning in the past, let’s not forget the digital tools that we can continue to use to enhance our return to in-person instruction! Nearpod is one of those valuable tools, and SFUSD educators continue to have access to the full suite of interactive features and content available in the Nearpod app. Consider some of the following ways that Nearpod can support your in-person instruction:
- Customizable and interactive content and media such as virtual field trips, videos, texts, and slides and more to enhance direct instruction and provide visual scaffolds.
- Live formative assessments through customizable quizzes, polls, open-ended questions, matching activities, and more that can be used to check for students’ understanding in real-time.
- Use Immersive Reader to support language learners to dive deeper into content through text-to-speech support, real-time translation (in over 60 languages!), parts of speech guidance, visual scaffolds and more for ANY and ALL text on your slides.
- Share self-paced lessons for students to review after class, as homework, or even as a sub-plan!
These are just a few of the ways Nearpod can be integrated into instruction across nearly any content area. Sign in to Nearpod with your SFUSD Google credentials to pursue lessons and get started creating your own lessons in Nearpod. You can learn more about Nearpod by watching the Intro to Nearpod videos, checking out the Nearpod FAQ page and the Nearpod blog, or by attending a live webinar led by Nearpod staff.
