Announcement Message
Starting October 18, 2021, San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) will no longer routinely call close contacts. A link to resources for individuals in isolation or quarantine is on all the memos.
- Effective immediately, "Runny nose" as an isolated symptom no longer warrants isolation as a COVID-19 symptom. Isolation would only be warranted if runny nose occurred in combination with another COVID-19 symptom.
- Effective immediately, Options for Tracking Symptomatic Students can be done in one of these three ways: (1) Smartsheet System (2) School based system or (3) Paradigm. Smartsheets is available if your site would still like to use it to help track return dates and when folks are cleared to return. Positive cases, and any close contacts related to that positive case, will still need to be entered into Smartsheets.
- Beginning on 10/21, we are removing the COLOR test result table on your site administrator Smartsheet dashboard. The Smartsheet dashboard was updated once a day which caused delays in reporting or duplicate positive case submission. Central COVID Liaisons are checking the COLOR dashboard regularly and will inform you if there are new cases (both student and staff).
SFDPH recently released a statement on COVID Cases, Clusters and Outbreaks in Schools. This statement clarifies that SFDPH conducts several procedures and protocols to support schools when there are COVID-19 cases, clusters and/or outbreaks. This includes determining if a school exposure has occurred as well as case investigation, contact tracing, and outbreak investigation and management. This information can also be found on our SFUSD website page, When Someone Gets Sick.
