High School Credit Recovery-Evening/Saturday is available for students who need additional credits to graduate on time.
Extended hours for Evening/Saturday High School teachers are in accordance with the current contract between UESF and SFUSD.
- Teacher Salary, in accordance with UESF contract, is approximately $50.60/per hour – extended hours; (approximately 75 hours paid total (includes prep and meeting); 60 instructional hours)
- Evening: Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday for 24 class meeting days from 4:15pm - 6:45pm (balanced between synchronous and asynchronous learning) Synchronous Zoom classes begin at 5:30PM.
- Saturday for 12 class meetings from 8:00am - 1:00pm (balanced between synchronous and asynchronous learning)
- Spring 2022 Class Dates:
- Mon/Wed: Wednesday, February 2 - Wednesday, May 4 (No Classes: Feb 21, March 28 and 30)
- Tue/Thur: Thursday, February 3 - Tuesday, May 3 (No Classes: March 29 and 31)
- Saturday: Saturday, February 5 - Saturday, May 7 (No Classes: March 26 and April 2)
- MANDATORY Credit Recovery Meetings and Professional Development (Via Zoom):
- Wednesday, January 19 from 5:00pm - 6:30pm
- Tuesday, February 22 OR Wednesday, February 23 5:00pm - 6:00pm
- Tuesday, April 5 OR Wednesday, April 6 from 5:00pm - 6:00pm
Application Procedures:
- Applications will be posted on October 28, 2021. Review of applications will begin November 4, 2021 and will continue until positions are filled. Selection Process:
Application screening for minimum requirements. Program needs will be considered. Extended hour positions are subject to availability of funding and student enrollment each semester. Teachers are hired for each semester as determined by course needs of students.
NOTE: Teachers are not guaranteed a full semester in the case of under enrollment.
Requirements:
- Must be currently employed by SFUSD
- Appropriate credentials
- Satisfactory or higher evaluations for past three years
Desired Qualifications:
- Subject matter experience
- Successful experience at providing differentiated and engaging instructional strategies to meet the needs of students of diverse backgrounds
- Experience at the secondary level with currently-adopted textbooks and instructional materials
- Ability to meet reporting deadlines on time for attendance, grades, and payroll reporting
- Ability to motivate students and maintain quality classroom management
