As the Spring Semester approaches, a variety of organizations and district/school programs will be asking to use your site. Before you sign a Facilities Use Permit, you must ensure that a SFUSD program is not intending to use your building. Permits will be approved starting April 1 2022.
- Outside organizations may ask to use your site for a day or for most of the summer. Please refer them to the Real Estate Office to complete a Facilities Use Permit. First priority is for district/school programs. Please do not sign a permit unless you are 100% sure your site is available. There is no guarantee that the Facilities Use Permit will be approved by the Real Estate Office.
Do NOT authorize building usage after July 15, 2022 as sites will be deep cleaned.

- Extended School Year (ESY), HS Credit Recovery, ExCEL/Beacon and other programs will serve a large number of students. Your site may be chosen based on location, availability of particular classrooms for students with disabilities, ease of transportation, etc.
- You may have a district/school program which would like to use your building. Some may be larger district initiatives such as Step-Up, Migrant Education, Indian Education, AVID Excel, CTE and K-8. Others may be unique to your school.
- Your site may be undergoing construction or improvement, whether fully closed or partially closed, for a few weeks or the entire summer. A site without an accessible cafeteria should NOT be used.
- The Custodial department plans Deep Cleaning during the summer, primarily from July 18th -August 13th*. Some sites will be deep cleaned on a rotating schedule in June & July. In general, summer building hours are 7:00-4:00 at high schools and 7:30-4:30 at Elementary and Middle Schools. Custodial staff may be assigned to different sites over the summer to accommodate vacations and deep cleaning schedules. Please do not expect your usual custodian.
- Security Code access will be needed for new principals and principals using different sites over the summer. To request a code, please contact Maggie Pang at pangm@sfusd.edu.
- If your site has been a Grab & Go Site, you should anticipate that this will continue through the summer. Due to this, you should not allow an outside organization to use your school site for programming. We will know more about this program during the Spring.
- ExCEL/Beacon partners will be operating several summer programs, for students from your school. If parents have questions about summer programs, please check OASIS bulletin for notification of programs. Your site may also have special programs with restricted enrollment (such as only for your students). The various district programs each have their own recruitment/advertisement/eligibility structures.
*Dates per 2022-2023 Instructional calendar and may change once BOE approves an instructional calendar. This is with the assumption that the school start date will be 8/15/2022.
