Announcement Details
Summary
Zoom changes for 2021-2022 School Year!
Announcement Message
Please be aware of the following changes for staff and students with the new Zoom safety and security protocols for the upcoming year starting 8/5:
- All meeting attendees will be required to authenticate with an SFUSD Google account before joining your meeting. All site staff will now have “require authentication to join” to be checked by default, and the authentication method “SFUSD-Hosted Class Meeting” should be applied. We recommend that you individually check each of your meetings to confirm that the settings were correctly applied.
- Any volunteer, CBO partner, student-teacher or other individual who interacts frequently with students MUST obtain an SFUSD email address. Infrequent, supervised guests can be added as a security exception.
- Students will join meetings from the links provided by teachers, then log in with Google, if prompted.
- Students will only be able to access SFUSD Zoom meetings - all other Zoom account functionality will be disabled in the coming weeks.
- Names for SFUSD meeting guests will now appear exactly as they appear in Google for staff and students. The ability to add pronouns in Zoom will still be available once a user has joined a meeting. Please visit our Zoom 2021-2022 Teaching Resources page to learn more.
