Sign up to attend the June SFUSD Teacher Leader Institutes!
Are you an active or aspiring teacher leader? Do you hold formal or informal leadership roles at your site or department (leading PLCs, serving on ILT or other leadership teams, leading a content or grade level team, or otherwise involved in site leadership)?
If so, we encourage you to attend the Teacher Leader Institute to deepen your leadership skills in areas including agenda design, facilitation, equity framing, navigating conflict and dissent, holding accountability, and so on.
There are two Teacher Leader Institutes:
Part 1 (see flyer) is a 3-day institute June 7-9 that is an INTRODUCTORY course.
Part 2 (see flyer) is a 2-day institute June 10-11 that is a more ADVANCED course for those that have already completed Part 1 (last summer) OR participated in the New Coach Network series (coaching and facilitating teams) this school year.
Compensation: At this time, we do not have funding to pay you to attend. However, we are working to find stipends and will let you know as soon as we have confirmation of whether you can be paid to attend and how much we can offer. There is no guarantee we will find funding.
We encourage you to consider the following options while you await word about payment from us:
--use your 18 Educator PD Hours (if you have not already used them) as compensation
--speak with your supervisor/administrator to see if they can pay you to attend
--attend voluntarily without pay
If you are potentially interested in attending either institute, complete the non-binding registration form ASAP. We will be in touch with those registered about compensation and logistical information.
Registration Form: Teacher Leader Institute Part 1 (June 7-9)
Registration Form: Teacher Leader Institute Part 2 (June 10-11)
Feel free to contact Kathleen Helfrey (helfreyk@sfusd.edu) with questions or concerns.
