Announcement Message
This is a joint message from the Central Office Math Department and the Achievement Assessment Office.
The administration window for the Spring 2021 District Math Assessments (Window 2) began on February 1st. The following supports are provided for scoring and analyzing student work, and determining next instructional steps.
For K-5 Teachers:
- Synchronous opportunities for Part 1: Calibration and Scoring (2/25 & 2/26) and Part 2: Analysis and Next Steps (3/4 & 3/16) are available. See AAO Professional Development webpage for more information.
- Asynchronous modules are available for use by site or grade level teams.
For Middle School Teachers:
- In the 2020-2021 school year, the Grade 6-8 District Assessment changed from the Milestone to the Entry Task. This is a formative assessment, which should be administered before the specific content of the unit is taught.
- The Math Entry Task Engagement Guide, with an accompanying asynchronous Math Entry Task Protocol is available to support teachers in using the Entry Task to inform their understanding about students’ readiness to learn specific content standards, and creating bridges from students’ strengths to the learning objectives and conceptual understanding expected in the unit. A useful tool is the coherence map when thinking about grade level planning.
For High School Teachers:
The Math Post-Milestone Re-Engagement Guide, with an accompanying asynchronous Math Milestone Task Protocol is available to support teachers in calibrating and scoring student work, and determining next instructional moves.
Thank you for your partnership and support. For more information about professional development opportunities at all grade levels, see the AAO Math District Assessment Professional Development webpage.
