Are you applying to a new school for your student next year? SFUSD has a new tool to help you create your list of schools more easily. Make an appointment with an Educational Placement Center counselor if you have questions.

SFUSD continues to be committed to college enrollment for 12th grade seniors during distance learning. Here are some helpful videos to support students and families currently engaged in the college application and enrollment process. 

Superintendent Matthews is sharing this update with SFUSD families regarding plans to gradually begin offering in-person learning for students enrolled in certain grades and programs at a set of schools.

In response to feedback from families to accommodate school and work schedules, meal pickup will now be offered in the afternoon, two days per week. Schedule changes are also being made to accommodate the Thanksgiving holiday.

October is Filipino American History Month. SFUSD celebrates by highlighting the diversity, brilliance and beauty of the Filipinx community both in their countries of origin but particularly in the diaspora and their presence here in San Francisco.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board of Education will be holding discussions on and voting to change the admissions criteria of Lowell High School for one year (school year 2021-22).

This Election Day, San Franciscans will vote on Proposition J, which addresses a legal loophole to continue providing funds to SFUSD and Proposition 15, which would increase revenue for public education and other services.

A public hearing will be held on Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. as part of SFUSD’s regular Board of Education meeting to determine the sufficiency of textbooks or instructional
materials as required by California Education Code Section 60119.

SFUSD will automatically enroll all TK-2 families in the Ready4Learning text messaging service that offers learning tips. There is no cost to families, and families can opt out at any time.

For distance learning in the fall, SFUSD is preparing to loan Chromebook devices and Internet access for students in grades PK-12 who need technology to engage in distance learning.

The Multipurpose Family Income form for the 2020-21 school year is now available online. A new application needs to be submitted each school year to qualify for meal benefits.
