Information About General Education Transportation Services

SFUSD will continue to offer general education transportation services in the 2025-26 school year. 

The design of bus routes and assignment of students to bus services is governed by the Board of Education Policy on General Education Transportation. The policy prioritizes distribution of this limited service to some elementary, K-8, and middle schools for creating diverse learning environments and equitable access to educational opportunities among:

• English learners
• Newcomers
• Low-income students living in low test-score areas
• Students living in densely populated attendance areas who need access to schools in less densely populated parts of the city
