It’s never too late to learn about Student Nutrition Services (SNS)! If you’re unfamiliar with SNS, we have plenty to share with you. In short, Student Nutrition Services is a team of food professionals that work together to nourish SFUSD students with food that enables them to live healthy lives inside and outside the classroom.

SNS strives to provide access throughout the school day to food that is healthy, culturally diverse, affordable, fair, sustainable, and loved by students.

Please download our Who Is SNS? Flyer.

The SNS team of food professionals includes:

  • the Dining Staff who prepare and serve meals on your school sites every day.
  • the Operations Team who make sure the Dining Staff have everything they need to succeed including functioning equipment and timely deliveries.  They are also the main liasons between SNS and school sites.
  • the Culinary Team who carefully plan each Refresh menu, which offers meals prepared in-house at 21 middle and high schools, to ensure meals are nutritious and delicious.
  • the Business Team who lay the groundwork for success through payroll, ordering, and technology.
  • the Future Dining Experience Team who listen, observe, and work to improve the student dining experience.
  • the Child Nutrition Programs Team who provide support for Supper programs, schools when implementing programs like Breakfast in the Classroom and SFUSD’s Wellness Policy, and the ever important compliance.
  • the Leadership Team who provide support to every team, keep our key priorities at the forefront of our mission, and remind us why we’re here; to feed the kids.

If your student is at a site under the SFUSD umbrella, SNS is your school food provider. While we do partner with a primary vendor (Revolution Foods) for all Elementary Schools and a handful of Middle and High Schools, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding your school food you should reach out to Student Nutrition Services at SchoolFood@sfusd.edu.
