SF Safe Routes to School Program

The SF Safe Routes to School Program helps families get to school safely and sustainably
through the Four Fun Ways: walking, biking and rolling, taking Muni, and carpooling! 

Hold the date for our two citywide celebrations this fall: Transit Month and Walk and Roll to School Week.
September is Transit Month, which encourages and celebrates students taking buses and trains
to school! Walk & Roll to School Week is in early October and encourages and celebrates
walking and rolling to school. More information will be shared about these events as the school
year starts.

You can also sign up to be a Safe Routes to School Champion, which is a point-person to help
organize and coordinate events. Sign up with your school or request additional information about the
program by emailing us at saferoutes@sfmta.com.
