At the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, June 25, the Board will discuss criteria for school closures, mergers, and co-locations, as a part of the process for developing a new school portfolio for 2025-26. That portfolio will be announced in fall 2024.
The Board is not voting on school closures on June 25. There are no names of schools that will be released on June 25.
Over the summer, SFUSD will develop multiple scenarios for a new school portfolio. Each scenario will be audited by independent third-party researchers. In fall 2024, SFUSD will share which schools are recommended to close, co-locate, or merge for the 2025-26 school year. The Board will vote on the recommendations in December 2024.
