826 Valencia's Youth Leadership Advisory Board (YLAB) is a special opportunity to develop your leadership skills, work on your writing, editing, public speaking and form a community with students from all of our programs.

We'll talk about what 826 Valencia means to us and how to make it even better.

Signing up for YLAB means you are committing to attending every meeting and being fully engaged as a member of the group. This means:

  • Attending meetings once a week at your chosen location in the Mission, Tenderloin, or Mission Bay

    • Wednesdays 4:00-5:00 p.m.: Tenderloin (180 Golden Gate Ave., SF)
    • Thursdays 4:30-5:30 p.m.: Mission (3543 18th St #8, SF)
    • Fridays 4:30-5:30 p.m.: Mission Bay (1310 4th St, SF)

  • Tutoring in our programs one to two times a week at a tutoring center near you

  • Participating in workshops or leadership opportunities during the school year (4 hrs. minimum, in the evenings or on weekends on a variety writing projects)

If you fulfill the above commitments, you are eligible to receive a total of $1,000 for your year of participation as a Youth Leadership Advisory Board member.
