COVID Vaccine for anyone 5 years and older
Anyone ages 5 and above is eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine.
The San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) and its health system partners are continuing to administer COVID-19 vaccine doses to individuals 5 to 11 years of age. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had authorized the Pfizer-BioTech vaccine for this age group in October 2021.
Studies have shown the Pfizer vaccine is very effective in preventing COVID-19 infections and producing protective antibodies in teenagers. Learn more from the CDC about the benefits of getting a vaccine (Español | 简体中文 | Tiếng Việt | 한국어).

Booster Doses for students age 12 and up
SFDPH and its health partners are also administering COVID-19 booster doses to vaccinated individuals 12 years and older. The FDA authorized boosters for people in this age group.

SFUSD is also working closely with local and state public health departments to make vaccines and boosters available to the SFUSD community at school-based vaccination sites. More information, including locations and schedule, will be posted once it becomes available.
As a reminder, people under 18 need permission from a parent or guardian to be vaccinated, except under certain limited circumstances.
