The Great California ShakeOut is coming on October 21st at 10:21 AM.  

On October 21st, 2021 at 10:21 AM, all schools, Early Education Centers, and all central office sites will conduct the “Drop, Cover, Hold and Evacuate” drill. Students and staff will stay in the “Drop, Cover and Hold” position for at least 30 seconds to one minute.

All schools will evacuate after the Drop, Cover, and Hold drill is completed to their designated evacuation assembly areas.  Schools will complete their regular evacuation procedures and once completed, will return to their buildings. 

The purpose of this scheduled event is to remind students, SFUSD employees, city personnel and the public at large of our earthquake risk and to encourage them to take the necessary steps to prepare for an earthquake. We want to ensure our families that schools are a safe place to be during an emergency and we are doing our best to protect your children.
