Read the press statement below to learn about SFUSD's plans to increase the supply of portable air cleaners to classroom to address air quality concerns during wildfire season.

Please note: 

  • Portable air cleaners that are being centrally procured must meet certain standards and must be maintained by SFUSD staff. Therefore, SFUSD is not accepting any equipment donation at this time.
  • Families who wish to contribute toward the tremendous cost of equipping all facilities with air filters and replacing those filters on a regular basis can donate to Spark* SF Public Schools, the non-profit that raises funds to support SFUSD’s priority improvement initiatives.

SFUSD will continue to follow SFDPH guidance to prioritize healthy air indoors during wildfire season. Please review SFUSD Weather/ AQI Guidance to understand the graduated response based on AQI levels.
