Originally posted on March 2, 2026: SFUSD is considering permanently offering Algebra 1 in 8th grade starting in 2026–27 and invites TK-8th grade families to complete a survey by March 9 and attend a March 5 Zoom webinar to ask questions about the survey and Algebra 1 coinsiderations.

Early Elementary, Elementary, K-8, and middle schools have parent-teacher conferences from March 2-6.

The Summer/Fall 2026 CCSF application is now open. Students interested in taking a Dual Enrollment class this summer or fall can apply anytime; we recommend applying early for summer.

Applications are now open for SFUSD’s Summer Accelerated Math courses—Algebra I for rising 9th graders and Geometry for rising 10th graders—through March 20.

All 8th graders in Chinese or Spanish Immersion can take a short virtual test in April to qualify for a 10-credit college course in their language when they start 9th grade.

We are excited to announce there is a new Biliteracy Program Participation Recognition Award promoted by the California Department of Education available to all 5th graders enrolled in programs leading to bilingualism and biliteracy. This award serves as an entry point on a student’s pathway to earning the Seal of Biliteracy upon graduation from high school.

The SFUSD Wellness & Health Education Action Team is putting on a series of webinars for parents/guardians/caregivers to address important issues and topics facing our students and families.
