Press Release Message
San Francisco (October 19, 2023) - The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) is launching its enrollment season for the 2024-25 school year by hosting an enrollment fair and workshops for families who wish to enroll their child(ren) in PreKindergarten (PK), Transitional Kindergarten (TK), kindergarten, middle school, or high school for the coming school year.
This year, SFUSD will host an enrollment fair in-person for all SFUSD schools. The enrollment fair takes place on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. at John O’Connell High School in the Mission District.
During the enrollment fair, families will be able to meet with principals, teachers, parents, and students from every school in SFUSD. There will also be workshops on different topics, such as applying to high school, special education, and applying to Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten for new SFUSD families. Additionally, families can connect with city agencies and community organizations.
“There is a public school for every child in San Francisco,” said SFUSD Superintendent Dr. Matt Wayne. “The enrollment fair is a great way for families in San Francisco to get to know all of our schools and the variety of programs we offer.”
In addition to enrollment resources at the fair, families can enjoy food from The Vegan Hood Chefs, a photo booth, music from student DJs, free books from the San Francisco Public Library Bookmobile, and giveaways, plus the opportunity to win a grocery gift card and other prizes.
SFUSD will also hold workshops in November for families who are not able to attend the enrollment fair. Virtual workshops will be focused specifically on the enrollment process and will be held in English, Spanish, and Cantonese. Families can request interpretation in other languages by emailing the Enrollment Center at enrollinschool@sfusd.edu. There will also be in-person workshops designed to provide support for families in the Excelsior, Bayview, and Mission communities. These enrollment workshops will be held in English, Spanish, and Cantonese with other languages available upon request. Families attending the in-person workshops must register in advance at sfusd.edu/workshops.
Applications for schools and programs TK-12 will be available starting on Oct. 20. Read more about the application process and deadlines for selective high schools at sfusd.edu/enroll.
