SFUSD Kicks Off Enrollment Season With PreK-12 Enrollment Fairs and Workshops Link to this section
San Francisco (Oct. 18, 2022) - The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) is launching its enrollment season for the 2023-24 school year by hosting enrollment fairs and workshops for families who wish to enroll their child(ren) in PreKindergarten (PK), Transitional Kindergarten (TK), kindergarten, middle school, or high school for the coming school year.
This year, SFUSD will host a portion of the enrollment fair in person for the first time since 2020. An in-person enrollment fair will take place for PK, TK, and elementary school families on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at John O’Connell High School. A virtual enrollment fair via Zoom will be held for middle school and high school families from Monday, Oct. 24 to Thursday, Oct. 27 from 5 - 7 p.m.
During the enrollment fair, families will be able to view presentations by different schools and meet with school communities. There will also be workshops on different topics, such as applying to language programs and Career Technical Education (CTE) programs at high schools.
“There is a public school for every child in San Francisco,” said SFUSD Superintendent Dr. Matt Wayne. “The enrollment fair is a great way for families in San Francisco to get to know all of our schools and the variety of programs we offer.”
All presentation slides from the fair and 45-minute school informational sessions for the virtual enrollment fair will be recorded and posted online.
SFUSD will also hold small in-person workshops in November for families who are not able to attend the virtual or in-person enrollment fairs. These workshops are designed to provide equitable support for families in the Bayview, Visitacion Valley, Mission, Excelsior, and Chinatown communities who may have limited access to resources. These enrollment workshops will be held in English, Spanish, and Cantonese with other languages available upon request.
Applications for schools and programs TK-12 will be available starting on Oct. 22. Read more about the application process and deadlines for selective high schools at sfusd.edu/enroll.
