WHAT
Wearing their best clothing, dozens of animated students will crowd the “dinner table” to enjoy a feast of turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.
Newly arrived Spanish-speaking immigrants in grades K to 5, will highlight the American tradition with songs such as “This Land is Your Land”, to “Mr. Turkey” and “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”

WHY
Mission Education Center, founded in 1972, is a K-5 school for newly arrived immigrant students who speak only Spanish. The transitional program is aimed at helping newcomers achieve the confidence and skills to succeed in the next school to which they transfer at the end of one year.
