Opportunity to learn: Schools get creative for Halloween Link to this section
SF Public Montessori has its own annual Halloween tradition, called "Historical
Halloween." All students choose a historical person to research, then dress up as
that person and present them to their classmates. his year, second and third graders
are creating their own live museum of characters for upperclassmen to visit and learn
more about these historical figures.
When: Monday, October 31 / 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.

At Argonne Elementary, the fourth- and fifth-grade students will dress up as idioms
and participate in a social mixer where they guess each other's idiom costume. Not only
is it a unique way to celebrate the Halloween dress-up tradition, it helps the school's
English language learners with some of the more quirky English phrases.
