Cradle to College: Highlights for Sept. 12 - 19, 2016 Link to this section
More than 40 historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) will be on hand to provide high schoolers with information and even offer admission and scholarships on the spot to qualified seniors. This is SFUSD’s 17th annual HBCU recruitment fair, and hundreds of SFUSD high school juniors and seniors are expected to turn out. The evening is sponsored by the San Francisco Alliance of Black School Educators.
When: Monday, Sept. 12 / 4:00 8:00 p.m.
Where: Mission HS / 3750 18th St.
The fourth annual Black Family Cradle to College & Career Day will be serving up free brunch to the first 300 registered guests and providing free workshops for parents and teens throughout the day. Attendees can sign up for afterschool programs and resources as well as Youth Jobs+ paid internships. This event is part of SFUSD’s African American Achievement and Leadership Initiative, which works in partnership with African American families, community based organizations, philanthropic partners and the City of San Francisco to maximize resources and support for African American students.
