WHAT: Mayor Ed Lee and former Mayor Willie Brown, Jr. will tour the new Willie Brown Jr. Middle School for the first time and meet with Superintendent Richard Carranza, Principal Demetrius Hobson, and a handful of students who will be attending Brown in the fall.

WHEN: Thursday, March 19 / 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

WHY: The old building was taken down in 2011, and the newly constructed state-of-the-art building will open as planned this fall.

The new school plans to offer a full array of socio-emotional, mental and physical health supports to students and their families, including an on-campus health clinic and a dental facility.
