The Design Challenge
How do we get teachers across disciplines to be emotionally invested in using capstones as an empowering learning experience for students?
If we showcase the fully extended design process that Galileo Career Academy teachers are implementing in their capstones and that students are exploring during project-based learning, then all teachers across disciplines will draw connections between PBL and their own instructional strategies.
If teachers visit schools with developed PBL and capstones, then they will have functioning models of student work and engagement that they can apply to their instructional strategies.
If we train teachers in PBL, then we strengthen teacher opportunities for collaboration and implementation; and, consequently, impact student skills across all disciplines.
