How can I get involved?

Ways for the community to be involved in the Resource Alignment Initiative:

There are multiple phases of community engagement to ensure the community’s voices are heard. We are currently at Phase 1 of 3. We want the community involved in every step of this process; please reach out and join us in this work.

In Phase 1, SFUSD will facilitate two cycles of feedback before presenting the criteria to the Board of Education in June 2024. SFUSD will engage the community to revise criteria for school mergers, co-locations, and closures. These cycles include:

  • Sixteen in-person community sessions held in schools throughout the city
  • Eight+ in-person sessions with our community-based organizations and partners
  • Sixteen sessions with SFUSD family and student advisory councils & committees
  • Two hundred+ touchpoints with School Site Councils
  • Two virtual town halls
  • Two online surveys
